Update: Austro Control Exams at CATS Luton in 2021

In line with the extension of the lockdown Austro Control exams have been moved to the 8th – 12th March.

Austrocontrol exams at CATS Luton in 2021

CATS Luton will have Austrocontrol exams on the following dates in 2021:

• 2nd – 5th March
• 15th – 16th April
• 12th & 14th May 
• 10th – 11th June
• 8th – 9th July
• 5th – 6th August
• 9th – 10th September
• 7th – 8th October
• 4th – 5th November
• 9th – 10th December

Austro Control examination guide has suspend

We regret to inform you that the Austro Control examination guide has to suspend the use of digital flight computers (e.g. ASA CX-3) for all ECQB-based exams under their responsibility from the 1^st of December 2020 on.

Limited availability for Austrocontrol exams

Due to extremely limited availability for Austrocontrol exams this year, we strongly urge our students to book their exams as soon as possible if you wish to remain on the old syllabus. Austrocontrol new syllabus implementation imminent – taking place on the 31st December 2020.

Austro Control grants extension period

It has been confirmed by Austro Control that all applicants who have already taken at least one examination paper at Austro Control GmbH before the 31st March 2020 shall be granted an extension of the 18-month period for the entire theoretical knowledge examination by a further 6 months.

Furthermore, Austrocontrol has announced new syllabus exams will only be permitted as an initial attempt from 1st January 2021.

Austro Control exams for July 2020 are cancelled

We received today news that the Austro Control exams for July 2020 are cancelled

We are in frequent discussions with Austro Control regarding exam delivery and latest updates will be communicated via social media and via the CATS News section of our website.

You can now:

1. transfer without charge a booking to later in the year
2. request a refund which will incur a modest 2-3 euro charge

We are preparing procedures at CATS for the return to training and examinations as soon as practicably possible

Procedures will be employed for the safe delivery of exams which will include but are not exclusive to:

1. Self-declaration of lack of recent exposure to and lack of COVID-19 symptoms
2. Completion of a short information briefing of how to reduce COVID-19 exposure
3. Remote forehead temperature-sensing
4. Regular exam station sanitisation 
5. Deployment of PPE including face masks and hand sanitisers for use at each exam station
6. A limitation to the availability of the number of exam stations to 4
7. Directed entry and exit to the building and exam room

Austro Control exams are cancelled for 11-12th June 2020…

Due to UK Government COVID-19 restrictions Austro Control exams are cancelled.

The next available exam dates are 16-17th July 2020.

Austro Control have confirmed with CATS that the exams will be video-monitored should they proceed in the Luton exam centre at CATS.

Procedures will be employed for the safe delivery of exams which will include but are not exclusive to:

It should be noted that these exams could be cancelled as matters in the UK unfold regarding the UK government restrictions on travel. As such please note that bookings  for exams should be made with this in mind

Refunds are subject to a modest 2-3 euro per exam fee
Alternatively bookings may be held on the system for a later date

CATS LUTON: Austro Control exams update

In line with the UK government advice regarding the response to the corona virus pandemic the:

• 9/4/20 to 10/4/20 exams are cancelled.
• The 7/5/20 to 8/5/20 exams are cancelled.
• The 11/6/20 to 12/6/20 exams are currently planned to proceed subject to further notice.
